Frequently asked questions

1. How much would a replacement from door cost me?

In joinery, there is no such thing as a standard size—every order is entirely bespoke, from precise dimensions to intricate detailing. Each piece is crafted to suit your specific requirements, as we understand that one size does not fit all. To receive an approximate quote tailored to your project, please contact our office, and a member of our team will be happy to assist you.

2. How do you finish-off your products?

All of our timber products undergo a thorough  three-stage priming and undercoating process to ensure optimal preparation before final painting. This includes thorough sanding, dust removal, and reapplication of primer or undercoat as needed, resulting in a smooth, clean surface ready for finishing. We then apply a high-quality, water-based satin white paint using a spray gun, achieving a flawless and consistent finish with a refined, professional appearance.

3. Do you offer standard sizes for windows, doors, or gates?

No — all of our products are made to measure. Every order is fully bespoke, tailored to your specific dimensions and design preferences.

4. What types of wood do you use?

We work with a variety of high-quality timbers, including hardwoods like oak, sapele, and utile  as well as softwoods such as redwood or Accoya, depending on the requirements of your project.

5. Can you match existing designs or period features?

Yes. We specialise in replicating traditional and heritage styles, and can match existing architectural details to maintain the character of your property.

6. How long does the process take from order to delivery?

Lead times vary depending on the complexity and size of the project, but typically range from 4 to 8 weeks. We will provide an estimated timeframe at the point of quotation.

7. Can I get a quote before committing?

Absolutely. We are happy to provide a no-obligation free estimate based on your specifications — simply get in touch with our office with your measurements and requirements.

8. Are your products suitable for listed buildings or conservation areas?

Yes, we are experienced in producing bespoke joinery that complies with conservation regulations and can work to the standards required for listed properties.

9. What finishes or colours are available?

We typically use a high-quality satin water-based white paint as standard, but we can accommodate other colours and finishes upon request, including stains and natural finishes.

10. Can you create custom designs from architectural drawings or sketches?

Yes, we can work from detailed architectural plans, sketches, or even reference photos to bring your vision to life with precision craftsmanship.
